Course Description
In this aptly named study of anatomy and physiology, students spend much of the time dissecting a fetal pig and comparing its anatomy to that of humans. Students also spend some time comparing the anatomy of other vertebrates such as the heart and eyes of cows and wings of chickens. Students visited University of Lynchburg's cadaver lab, University of Virginia's pathology and hematology departments, and a museum about medicine at the time of the Civil War to learn about the advancements of medicine.
